A desperate Single Mom -Tiffany- contacted TK&M through our website. Sheila had a call with her to discuss her specific needs. The mom listed living room furniture, beds, kitchen utensils, clothing for her 2 boys, a boy’s bike, and a ride to church. Sheila sent an email blast to TK&M network expressing the mom’s needs and asking if anyone had these items for donation. Pastor Vic Sassano from River of Life Church in Salisbury responded with an offer of weekly transportation to his church and multiple people responded with offers of items the mom needed. A further issue was that the mom has no transportation or means to pick-up the furniture.

Meanwhile, another mom – Malasia- saw the email requesting help for Tiffany and inquired how she too might receive these sorts of items. Sandra communicated the needs with Prism and other people she knows. Sandra began to coordinate picking up and delivering all the furniture and donations with her SUV and the help of her son-in-law and his truck. After trips to Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat Restore, the mattress store, a donor’s storage shed, multiple donor’s homes, and other shopping, the donations were collected. Tiffany and Malasia were provided full rooms of furniture (including a heavy kitchen dinette, living room chairs and love seats, bed frames and mattresses), clothing for their children, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene supplies, a vacuum cleaner/steamer, lamps, rugs, camera, and even a boy’s bike. The donations just kept appearing. Sandra’s caterer took the moms Mother’s Day lunch. Sandra says God orchestrated the details.
